The Greg Hill Foundation
Founded in 2010 by Greg Hill of WAAF in Boston, The Greg Hill Foundation responds to immediate requests for assistance, to improve the lives of local families touched by tragedy, through matching the charitable donation of Greg’s media audience.
Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress
The MDSC wants to be recognized by people with Down syndrome and their families, educators, health care professionals, and the community-at-large as the preeminent organization in Massachusetts for information, networking, and advocacy for and about Down syndrome. The mission of MDSC is to ensure individuals with Down syndrome in Massachusetts are valued, included, and given the opportunities to pursue fulfilling lives by providing information, networking opportunities, and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and their families, educators, health care professionals, and the community-at-large.
Founded in 2009 by Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, The Claddagh Fund is based on three core values within our community: friendship, love and loyalty; the three attributes symbolized in the Claddagh ring. The Fund provides assistance to organizations that share in these goals, prioritizing the needs of children and targeting organizations that support a myriad of children’s causes. The Claddagh Fund also supports other non-profit entities which share in our vision for improving the lives of suffering individuals, enabling them with the support and tools necessary to enhance their quality of life. In addition to the groups that champion the needs of children, the Claddagh Fund focuses on aiding veterans’ causes, families of deceased soldiers, and alcohol and drug recovery programs.
The Shawn Thornton Foundation
The Shawn Thornton Foundation is dedicated to helping find cures for diseases close to Shawn’s heart, specifically, Parkinson’s and cancer. The Foundation will work towards the mission by raising awareness, funding innovative research and helping to relieve the burden and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Boston Bruins Foundation
The Foundation provides grants to organizations that meet the standards of its mission, concentrating on the following four areas where it is best able to enrich the community.
The Boston Bruins Foundation believes that athletics teach children lessons that they will implement throughout their lives.
The Foundation seeks to support programs that provide homework assistance and a safe learning environment to develop social and learning skills for pre-school, primary, middle school children.
The City of Boston and the entire New England region boast some of the world’s preeminent hospitals and medical centers. The Foundation’s proximity to these centers enables it to assist a wide variety of health concerns and to support a variety of organizations involved in research, care and prevention of the health concerns of our children.
The Foundation’s community outreach area extends to organizations that are dedicated to working with at-risk or troubled youth, improving the self-esteem of children and developing our leaders of tomorrow.
Franciscan Hospital for Children
Since 1949, Franciscan Hospital for Children has pioneered clinical, therapeutic and educational programs for children with a variety of disabilities. Through the years, as one of the nation’s largest pediatric rehabilitation hospitals, we have expanded our complement of programs and services for children with special health care needs, as well as for children from the local community. Our continuum of care includes inpatient, residential, educational, surgical, outpatient and home care programs, a combination of services for children that is hard to find anywhere else.
The Light Foundation strives to install and augment the values of responsibility, accountability, and hard work by providing youth with unique outdoor experiences that assist them in reaching their highest potential. Our goal is to lead young people down a path to becoming responsible members of their communities who are capable of passing on the torch of leadership and achievement to their friends and families.
The Vince Wilfork Foundation
The specific aim and tasks of the VWF are to support diabetes research, to support educational and informational activities to increase awareness of causes of diabetes and to support organizations that care for those with diabetes. The overall purpose of the VWF is to be a source of support for any and all non-profit organizations and to serve or advocate for disadvantaged children.
